DAC Quality Management Mentorship Initiative
The costs associated with poor quality contribute significantly to a firm’s waste costs and inhibit greater competitiveness and localisation. In line with the DAC strategy to advance the competitiveness of supplier operations to assist firms with quality management and competitiveness improvement, the cluster is making an application to Senior Experten Service (SES), Germany’s leading volunteering organisation for retired experts, to strengthen process discipline around quality management and to support firms with the attainment of quality certifications.
The programme will include mentorship and an assessment of participating firms’ operational performance to identify and implement sustainable quality-system improvements. Participating firms will receive up to five full days of on-site mentorship in quality-management systems. Insights will be consolidated and results workshopped with participating firms to review shared (and specific) issues or shortfalls evident and drive peer learning.
Key benefits of participating:
- Enhanced quality-management systems;
- Staff upskilled to maintain and improve quality-management systems;
- Improved competitiveness;
- Reduced waste and scrap costs;
- Progression towards meeting IATF requirements.
